भाग्यले ठगे पनि हिम्मतले जितेको रत्नबहादुर तामाङको प्रेरणादायी जीवन कथा काठमाडौं । मास्टरसेफ इन्डिया २०२६ को अडिसनमा यतिबेला एक नेपाली युवाको असाधारण संघर्ष र प्रतिभाले सबैको ध्यान खिचेको छ। उनी हुन्— सिन्धुपाल्चोकका रत्नबहादुर तामाङ। दुवै हात गुमाइसकेका रत्नले कृत्रिम (Artificial) हातको सहारामा जजहरूका अगाडि लाइभ नुडल्स तयार पारेर खुवाउँदा विश्वप्रसिद्ध भारतीय सेफहरू समेत भावुक बनेका छन्। रत्नको आँट, आत्मविश्वास र सीप देखेर मास्टरसेफका जज तथा विश्वप्रसिद्ध सेफ विकास खन्नाले “जसले मन जित्यो, उसले अरु के इनाम जित्नुपर्छ र?” भन्दै खुलेर प्रशंसा गरे। रत्नले आफ्नो अद्भुत प्रदर्शनका कारण मास्टरसेफको प्रतिष्ठित एप्रोन र चक्कु समेत जित्न सफल भएका छन्। दुर्घटनाले बदलेको जीवन रत्नबहादुरको जीवन २०७२ सालमा एकाएक मोडियो। साउदी अरबबाट छुट्टीमा घर आएका बेला वेल्डिङको काम गर्दा हाइटेन्सन लाइनको करेन्ट लागेर उनले दुवै हात गुमाए। हात मात्र होइन, दुर्घटनापछि प्रेमिकाले पनि साथ छोडिन्। “त्यो बेला मसँग दुई विकल्प थिए— आत्महत्या गर्ने कि भीख माग्ने,” रत्न सम्झिन्...

नेपालमा बढ्दो महँगीले सर्वसाधारणको जीवन कठिन

काठमाडौं, चैत ९ – पछिल्लो समय नेपालमा दैनिक उपभोग्य वस्तुहरूको मूल्य निरन्तर बढ्दै गएको छ। खाद्यान्न, तरकारी, पेट्रोलियम पदार्थ तथा यातायात खर्च बढ्दा सर्वसाधारण नागरिकको जीवनयापन झन् कठिन बन्दै गएको छ। व्यापारीहरूका अनुसार अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय बजारमा कच्चा पदार्थको मूल्य बढ्नु, ढुवानी खर्च बढ्नु तथा बजार व्यवस्थापन कमजोर हुनु महँगी बढ्नुका मुख्य कारण हुन्। उपभोक्ताहरूले भने सरकारलाई बजार अनुगमन कडाइ गर्न तथा मूल्य नियन्त्रणका लागि प्रभावकारी कदम चाल्न माग गरेका छन्। अर्थशास्त्रीहरूका अनुसार यदि समयमै उचित नीति नल्याइए महँगीले आर्थिक असन्तुलन बढ्न सक्ने खतरा रहेको छ। सरकार र सरोकारवालाहरूले बजार स्थिर राख्न तथा उपभोक्ताको हित सुरक्षित गर्न समन्वय गरेर काम गर्नुपर्ने आवश्यकता देखिएको छ।

वीरेन्द्रनगरबाट लागूऔसध सहित २जना पक्राउ

वीरेन्द्रनगर नगरपालिका-१० बुदबुदे क्षेत्रबाट प्रहरीले लागुऔषधसहित दुई जनालाई नियन्त्रणमा लिएको छ। जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय सुर्खेत तथा लागुऔषध नियन्त्रण शाखाबाट खटिएको संयुक्त टोलीले सोमबार बेलुका शंकास्पद अवस्थामा बसेका दुई व्यक्तिलाई पक्राउ गरेको हो। पक्राउ पर्नेमा हर्षसिंह ठकुरी (३६) र तुला नेपाली (२२) रहेका छन्। उनीहरू दुवै वीरेन्द्रनगर-१० का स्थानीय बासिन्दा हुन्। प्रहरीका अनुसार नियमित गस्ती तथा चेकजाँचका क्रममा उनीहरू शंकास्पद रूपमा बसेको देखिएपछि खानतलासी गरिएको थियो। सो क्रममा उनीहरूको साथबाट करिब २ ग्राम ब्राउनसुगर फेला परेको हो। बरामद लागुऔषधसहित दुवै जनालाई तत्काल नियन्त्रणमा लिएर थप अनुसन्धान प्रक्रिया अघि बढाइएको प्रहरीले जनाएको छ। प्रहरीले यस घटनालाई गम्भीर रूपमा लिँदै लागुऔषध कारोबार तथा प्रयोग नियन्त्रणका लागि निगरानी अझ कडाइ गर्ने बताएको छ। साथै, पक्राउ परेका व्यक्तिहरूमाथि लागू औषध सम्बन्धी कसुर अन्तर्गत मुद्दा दर्ता गर्ने तयारी भइरहेको छ। जिल्ला प्रहरी कार्यालय सुर्खेतले पछिल्लो समय लागुऔषध ओसारपसार तथा प्रयोगमा वृद्धि ...
